David Gandy - Mr Magic & Sparkle this Christmas

David Gandy - Tall, dark and exceedingly handsome features as a charming Mad Hatter & Scarecrow in this year’s  mystical fairytale advert for Magic & Sparkle. The face of M&S is best known for his long term collaboration with Dolce & Gabanna, and the iconic Light Blue campaign (the one with Gandy in  skimpy white pants aboard a yacht in crystal blue waters) now in its third iteration. His work has been compiled into a 204 page coffee table book featuring his face and everything else.

When out of his trunks, Gandy is found perusing Antique’s fairs or driving one of his classic cars. An avid car enthusiast – he writes a require column on the subject in GQ and recently completed the Mille Miglia in Italy ( a 1,000 mile classic car race crossing through the countryside and cities).

Gandy is however not all fast cars, yachts and fashion shows, showing a softer side as the first celebrity ambassador of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, alongside a whole host of other charity work. Gandy certainly hasn’t become jaded or isolated from the fame and fortune that sees him as the #2 top-earning male model of 2013.

Domenico & Stefano brought a clash of Greek mythology to the catwalk as their power formula of Sicilian style, modelled by Sicilian men met the mythological might of Zeus V. Apollo.
 

The duo artfully crafted their collection away from the point of Greek caricature, playing homage to the Greek tailor's art of free-flowing form with broad sweaters and high cut shorts. Luxuriant hues of gold and cream brought together the earlier pieces before the show was broken by single colour satin gloss suits. 

The ethereal tones of the music however felt misplaced, a more Titan-inspired thunderous roar of clashing symbols and drums would have added a much needed kick.
